Fair Weather Driver?

I’m I a fair weather driver?

Well, I guess after 11 years delivering concrete, I have spent so many days in the rain, snow, cold and freezing wind.  So cold that your ears feel like they will brake off.  How many times have you stood at that line pump, cold wind blowing, rain and or snow coming down?  Just miserable! :(

So when I called the recording last night and hear that I have to drive 1 1/2 hours north of our plant, to another plant to help them because they have cut back on drivers.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind going up north and helping Thomas the batch man, it’s just that all day yesterday and last night the weather forecast is calling for snow 1″ to 3″ now that’s not much, however we already have a good foot or more from the last storm still on the ground.  Not to mention the dangerous driving conditions in a snow storm on slippery roads.

So I call in this morning before I start my pickup, all they know is that it’s still on.  OK I get to the plant, park my pickup.  Pre-trip and start up the mixer, turn my discharge chute to the right and just about to leave.  You guessed it, the cell phone rings, they canceled!  2 hours show up time.  More internet marketing for me today.  (I call it tapping the keyboard).  Tomorrow looks like 42 degrees, sunny and clear.
