Just giving us some hours today!
Hello Mixer Drivers,
Yesterday I had to go in at 11:00 a.m. Our operations manager called about 9:30 and said he was bringing some of us in to get some hours. We have no orders but we could help get the plant ready for tomorrow and wash on our trucks. Dave, our operations manager had the loader clearing the snow. Of course my mixer would not start. So I had to go to the shop to get the 2 battery chargers we use to get the trucks started. What do you know, there is no electricity. We have a rail in front of where we park the trucks that have electrical outlets on it for plugging our block heaters in. That’s where we plug the chargers in.
The video below will give you a visual on what I am saying. Anyway, I worked 6 hours and my feet were soaking wet all day. Good day for some chili. I am off today, to let some of the other guys work. Have a great day!

Today Feb 22nd 2010! Snow Day for us in Southern Colorado! HATE to lose a day of work, but thats the way it is. Poor economy here, and alot of drivers at home until spring, I hope. Not much work for anybody here, but when it hits, it hits. Belt driver is what I am so am lucky to be getting the hours I am. Any other belt drivers out there? Any needed? Good luck in this economy to all!
10-4 Gary,
We just had another snow day today 2-22-10. Not sure when it will end, we haven’t seen a winter like this in a long time. They keep saying we have a lot of work in the pipeline, just waiting for the weather to get better. You guys hang in there and just do the best you can. I hear that temporary unemployment is an option. However I wonder about getting called back, when and if at all. See ya!!
Yeppers, We can draw unemployment if we want, “JOB ATTATCHED”! I would rather work, and keep that option open until I really need it! We will all keep a Grin, and hope for a GREAT summer! To me, there is no other trucking job more fun than pouring concrete period… And I am sure glad for this web site! We will all get a better view of how people are doing out there! Keep on GRINNING all! Be safe, and most of all, have fun!
